A key element of our project is the creation of a clear Public Gateway to the rich natural resources of the Sepulveda Basin.

Multiple entry points currently exist, but there is no vista point to understand the extend of the park, no information center to understand what to do and where to go, no trail head where one can begin a morning hike, and no interpretive center to understand the natural and cultural significance of the basin.

The new Civic Plaza and Interpretive Center building, sited adjacent to the Balboa Orange Line Station, will provide just such a public gateway and point of orientation.

The new Gateway, together with the restoration of Bull Creek and its multiple trails and pathways, will reconnect multiple park experiences into a multifaceted whole.

Easy public access and clear sightlines throughout the park will make it a safer place to use and enjoy.
